International Conference on Language for Specific Purposes
      CALL FOR PAPERS 
          
  The University of Crete Language Instructors invite you to attend the 
  International Conference on Language for Specific Purposes in Heraklion, 
  Crete, held on February 7th and 8th, 2009 at the premises of the 
  University of Crete, in Heraklion. 
  
  The conference is expected to draw professionals from academic and 
  technical universities, colleges and vocational schools in Greece as well 
  as abroad. We encourage authors to submit papers pertaining to the scope 
  of the conference, describing original work, reporting research results 
  and/or indicating future directions. Accepted papers will be presented at 
  the conference by one of the authors and published in the proceedings. 
  Acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. The 
  deadline for Abstract Submission is 29th June 2008. 
  
  Topics to be addressed include: needs analysis, top-down and bottom-up 
  approaches, content-based learning, skills development, team-teaching, 
  input and output-based methodologies, consciousness-raising activities, 
  fostering critical awareness, syllabus and materials design, the use of 
  technology, testing and evaluation. 
  
  All professionals or academics that work or have an interest in Languages 
  for Specific Academic Purposes are invited to submit an abstract. 
  Practicing teachers of English, French or German for Specific and/or 
  Academic Purposes are especially invited to participate.
